Mumbo Jumbo Voodoo Combo was formed in Ottawa, Canada, July 1991, Fronted by two Juno Award winners {bandleader,lead vocalist, drummer Steve Lund and Brian Magner on Sax, performing the ultimate dance Party Music of New Orleans. They have transformed these Mardi Gras anthems into their own, while keeping true to the genre – also elements of Zydeco, Cajun, Blues, Boogie, Jazz, Reggae, Calypso & Latin music can be savoured in their MUMBO GUMBO. Mumbo has released 4 hour long albums, a Box set and a Best of CD of audience favourite songs, Over the years as group or individually, these veterans of have performed with many of musics royalty, such as Bo Diddley, Dr.John, Buckwheat Zydeco, Sue Foley, Mick Taylor {of the Stones}, MonkeyJunk’s Tony D and Steve Marriner and The Mighty Popo as well as Canada’s PM of The Blues Dutch Mason, just to name a few. They have been a staple at Ottawa’s Bluesfest {15 times}, Mont Tremblant Blues Fest {6 Times}, Montreal’s Jazz & Blues Fests, countless Canada Day & Civic Celebrations throughout the Ottawa Valley and Quebec, and at various music festivals and events from Edmonton, Halifax, St John NB, Rimouski, Quebec City, Goose Bay, Edmundston NB and Syracuse NY
